Three New Area Codes to be Added for Northern and Central New Jersey

Verizon has announced that it will introduce three new area codes in New Jersey on December 1. This means that it will add a second area code in each of the existing 201, 973, and 732 areas. Also, telephone users in those areas will begin having to dial 10 digits for all telephone calls at that time.

We are pointing this out here as a service to our members and to our friends on campus who travel to New Jersey regularly. Be prepared or be confused.
